Do you know the story of the Battle of Lepanto? If not, you can learn about it here. Prayer is powerful. Prayer and fasting is even more so. Right now we need to pray for Ukraine, for world peace, for Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart to penetrate the hearts of the Russian people.
An Opportunity Lost
The Church has failed. Covid was a test. Instead of keeping doors open, proclaiming the Gospel of Trust and converting thousands with its message of hope, it closed its doors, put on masks, and pandered to the atheistic governments.
Now we have this situation in Ukraine. Is Russia spreading its errors? Perhaps. Is it really going to stop with Ukraine? Only Russia knows its plans.
Call to Action
Yet, here is ANOTHER chance from God, another chastisement with another opportunity. WE MUST PRAY AND FAST for Ukraine. Stop focusing on the news, politics, your favorite tv program, whatever else distracts you from God. You are a Catholic. You are called to take up arms and PRAY. To be the Church Militant. You have no time to sit around and worry, to fret, to watch CNN. You are called to Sacrifice, to the Sacraments, to Adoration, to beg God for His Mercy.
Many of you are in America, seemingly protected from the conflict over here on the other side of the ocean. Yet, 1. America is NOT immune from any of this. Never be complacent. And 2. You should always care for those in harm’s way.
I’m reminded of the Babylonians. God used them to chastise His People because they would not listen. So, pray for the Pope. Pray that he has a deep conversion, stops persecuting his own flock and focuses on helping all come to Christ.
Pray for the conversion of Russia. Don’t stop praying until this is over. Pray for Mary’s Immaculate Heart to Triumph. And most importantly, pray that the Church finds Her backbone that existed so many years ago, in the Age of Martyrs and steps into her rightful place in this world, as its true Beacon of Light.
The Time is Now
Lent is almost here. Let’s start today. Start praying and fasting. Start detaching from this life. We never know when we will be called to our Judgment. Life is a blink. Don’t be afraid of death. We all die. But be very afraid of how you live each moment, each breath, if it is not for Christ.
